Unlike halogen lamps, HID lights use an advanced arc discharge to generate light. Xenon gas is ignited in an HID bulb, resulting in a high intensity electrical discharge. This lighting function emits a light that is three times brighter than the light generated by standard lamps. HID lights also have the capacity to last over 10 times as long as other systems.
